Sasquatch Sighting at Local Walmart
False;
Turns Out to be The Travis
Associated Press – At 7:30am on July 5th Larry Felker, a south Reno resident shopping at the Damonte Ranch Walmart, called the Reno police department claiming he had seen Bigfoot browsing in the store. Police responded in minutes to the call and swarmed around the store. With help from Animal Control, who was also called in response to the threat, “Bigfoot” was cornered in the pet section while the store was evacuated. Animal Control shot “Bigfoot” 17 times with tranquilizer darts before they realized they were actually shooting The Travis.
“I thought it was a tse tse fly or a fruit bat, to tell you the truth,” Travis stated when asked about the darts. “This has happened so many times I don't even feel the darts. Last year alone this happened on seven different occasions and now my body has become immune to tranquilizers. The only thing that can put me to sleep is golf. But when I was younger I was often confused for an Ewok. Sometimes people call me Chewbacca. But mostly I am mistaken for the Yeti, Rosie O'Donnell, or Sasquatch (calling him “Bigfoot” is insulting and he would totally rip your head off without even thinking twice about it if he heard you say that).”
The Travis went on to say, “This just goes to show you how ignorant people are these days. The Yeti lives in the Himalayas and he rarely travels. Rosie O'Donnell shops at Kmart and is the sole reason Super Kmart centers still sell food. And Sasquatch is never in Reno this time of year. Right now he is following the migration patterns of the monarch butterfly in the Eastern US.”
When asked why he didn't respond to the repeated shouts of officers The Travis said, “I really need to get my hair cut.” The Travis said he was just shopping for flea and tick medicine and a dog brush when it all happened. Walmart offered to pay for his items as an apology for the incident. The Travis said “I made out pretty good. I even got a twenty pound bag of dog food for free.” When asked what kind of dog he had The Travis said he didn't own one at then ran away on all fours in a Northeast direction.
